Parents and Families: Parent Voices New Jersey

About Parent Voices New Jersey
Parent Voices New Jersey, a project of NJACCRRA, is a parent-driven initiative that represents the interests and needs of New Jersey families. Our mission is to empower parents to advocate for access to high quality and affordable child care that supports learning for healthy growth and development, ensures safety, and promotes future independence for families.

Parent Voices is based on the philosophy that child care allows families to earn, and children to learn. Through an online community of support and sharing, parents join together to advocate for access to high-quality, affordable child care. Members represent their local interests and keep each other updated through electronic communication that includes email, website postings, and Facebook updates.

Our Goals
  • To recognize current concerns parents face accessing child care.
  • To collaborate with local legislators and advocate for policy changes within child care subsidy programs.
  • To maintain safe and healthy growth and development for children.
  • To increase future independence for families.

Take Action Today!
Help your child have a safe and healthy experience in child care. Join us as an advocate! Advocacy means taking action to influence decision-makers on proposed policy solutions that will create positive change for individuals and communities. For Parent Voices New Jersey, those policy solutions are focused on improving the quality, availability and affordability of child care in New Jersey.

Parents can get involved in advocating for high quality, affordable and accessible child care that is responsive to parental choice by:
  • joining Parent Voices New Jersey;
  • becoming a friend on Facebook;
  • sending regular messages via email, regular mail, or by phone to elected officials regarding pending or actual budget cuts or key legislation;
  • visiting with your representatives to discuss child care issues and concerns;
  • testifying before legislative and budget committees;
  • participating in Town Hall meetings;
  • writing letters to the editor on issues related to child care to get more people informed and involved; and
  • encouraging other parents to join Parent Voices New Jersey.
